Need an extra something for you next baby shower gift? Try making these easy baby washcloth lollipops. Too cute and simple to make.
I got the idea from 320 Days of Sunshine. You can see her blog post on them here. However, I’ve made a couple of sets of these now and I have some helpful hints.
The good news is you can pick up baby washcloths fairly inexpensively and in a variety of colors. Do choose ones all from the same manufacturer (hint #1). I learned that lesson when I didn’t and they were not the same size.
Fold until you get about 3/4 to 1 inch wide. Since you roll two together, make sure both cloths are the same width.
(Hint #2) do an extra fold of the top cloth on itself. You will find as you roll the top cloth extends itself so the finished roll isn’t as neat at the ends.
I found using clear bands to secure the roll was better than tape (hint #3). My rolls just wouldn’t stay together as nicely as 320 Days of Sunshine’s.
I put mine in cellophane bags from Wilton but I’m sure whatever brand you use, you’ll probably need to cut so the spoon handle sticks out a bit. Those sweet little feeding spoons are just too small.
I used the twist ties that came with the cellophane bags to hold everything in place while I tied the ribbon on (hint #4). Once the bows looked the way I wanted, I just snipped them off with scissors.
Super cute and well received. Hope you find the hints helpful!
